Court gives Imran last chance to appear

ISLAMABAD: On Saturday, a banking court in Islamabad heard a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan seeking bail in the foreign funding case.

During the hearing, the lawyer for PTI requested to exempt Khan from appearing before the court and the request was accepted by the Banking Court Judge Rakhshanda Shaheen with a warning that it was the last time that the court was giving him an exemption from court appearance.

The judge summoned Imran in a personal capacity during the next hearing of the case on January 31 and also sought arguments from the lawyers of both parties.

This is a significant development in the ongoing legal proceedings against the opposition party and its leadership.
