Punjab govt raises minimum wage to Rs 32,000

LAHORE: On the directions of Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the provincial government has increased the minimum wage to Rs 32,000.

A notification to this effect was also issued by the Punjab government.

According to a notification, the minimum wage has been raised by Rs 7,000 to Rs 32,000 which will come into effect with immediately. The minimum wage was fixed at 25,000 earlier.

Last year, the Punjab govt announced a 30pc increase in the salaries of government employees.
