Four army soldiers martyred in terrorists’ attack on Pak-Iran border

RAWALPINDI: Four soldiers patrolling the Pakistan-Iran border embraced martyred when they were attacked by terrorists from across the border in Jalgai Sector in Kech district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that soldiers – Naik Shair Ahmed, Lance Naik Muhammad Asghar, Sepoy Muhammad Irfan and Sepoy Abdur Rasheed were critically injured in the attack and later embraced martyrdom.

According to the military’s media wing, contact is being established with the Iranian side for “effective action against terrorists” and to prevent such incidents in the future.

The ISPR said that Pakistan has demanded effective and immediate action from the Iranian officials.

A day earlier, a Pakistan Army soldier was martyred during an exchange of fire with terrorists in the general area of Mir Ali North Waziristan district, the ISPR said.

The security forces personnel fought bravely and effectively engaged the terrorists’ location.

However, during an intense exchange of fire, Sepoy Irshadullah (age 29 years, resident of District Karak), having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom.

The ISPR said, “sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found there.”

PM pays tribute to martyred soldiers, condoles with families

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack on security personnel along Pak-Iran Border in Kech district of Balochistan and paid tributes to the security forces for rendering invaluable sacrifices for depending the motherland.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Saturday expressed grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of four security personnel in the attack.

In a tweet, PM Shehbaz paid tribute to the martyred Naik Sher Ahmed, Lance Naik Muhammad Asghar, Sepoy Muhammad Irfan and Sepoy Abdul Rashid.

The prime minister condoled and sympathized with the bereaved families of the martyred.

He said sons of the nation were sacrificing their precious lives for the defence, security and protection of the motherland.

“Nation salutes the martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the country.”

He said eradication of terrorism was a national agenda and with the help of Allah Almighty terrorists will be eliminated.

He prayed for the elevation of ranks of martyrs and for patience to the bereaved families.

 

Iranian Embassy condemns terror attack on Pakistan’s security forces

Meanwhile, Iranian Embassy strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Pakistani forces in Kech district of Balochistan near Pak-Iran border.

The Iranian Embassy spokesman said that the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan expressed sympathy with the families of those who lost their lives and prays for the martyrs.

In a statement, the spokesman stated that terrorism is the common pain of the two countries & the two Muslim nations have sacrificed precious lives in the fight against this plague.

“Undoubtedly, strengthening the joint cooperation between Iran and Pakistan will prevent terrorist groups from achieving their sinister goals,” the spokesperson added.

Interior Minister condemns attack on security forces

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah condemned the attack on Pakistan’s security forces on Pakistan-Iran border on Saturday.

Rana Sanaullah condemned the attack on Pakistan’s security forces on the Pakistan-Iran border and paid tribute to four martyred security personnel.

He said the sons of the soil were sacrificing their lives for the defence, security and protection of the motherland.

“Nation salutes the martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the country,” Sanaullah said, adding that the entire nation is united with security forces in the war against terrorism.
