Islamabad court remands Gandapur in police custody for one more day

ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad Monday remanded Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Amin Gandapur in police custody for one more day.

The court directed to submit the voice matching report of Ali Amin Gandapur tomorrow, and it also ordered his medical examination.

The police had demanded another five-day physical remand of Ali Amin Gandapur from the court.

“How was the case filed without voice matching?” the court enquired from the investigation officer.

“I have been asked to investigate this case,” the investigation officer replied.

“Wasn’t it necessary to carry out the arrest after voice matching? How did the police arrest [Gandapur] without obtaining a warrant from the court?” the court enquired further.

“Did the police take the statement of any of the private channels related to the audio of Ali Amin Gandapur?” lawyer Babar Awan raised a question.

“Let’s suppose the audio is correct, but is there any damage done?” he added.
