LAHORE: The Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) has conducted more than 2.6 million land record transactions during the current fiscal year from July 1, 2022 to March 2023, due to which an income of Rs11 billion has been recorded in the government treasury in the form of provincial taxes and service charges, Profit learnt here on Wednesday.
According to official data, a total of 1.8 million people were issued computerized land documents during 2023 so far from 232 province-wide computerized land records centres, rural centres, malls, NADRA e-facility centres and banks, while a total of 850,000 land mutations were confirmed during the period in question.
However, a total of 1.1 million land documents were issued from land record centres, about 300,000 from NADRA e-facility, 200,000 from e-service centres, more than 86,000 through online, a total of 29,000 from banks and 18,000 land documents were issued from mobile vans while more than 100,000 land documents were from Qanongoi Land Record Centres.
Speaking to Profit, Director General PLRA, Saira Umar informed that land record services are being automated to make public’s access to records easier and safer.
“Administrative matters are being harmonized with international standards to make revenue administration efficient. Through the universal access of data citizens can get the services of their desired area from any place. Moreover, progress is being made on the computerization of urban land records to make the land administration system integrated and on a par with international standards. The use of modern technology and advanced software is being ensured in the Punjab Land Record Authority to develop the land administration system in the province on modern lines and align the services with international standards,” she concluded.
