Delay in payment of pensionary benefits resolved for railway employees

ISLAMABAD: Kiran Imran Dar, the parliamentary secretary for railways, announced in the National Assembly that all outstanding salaries and pensions to the employees of Pakistan Railways had been paid.

This announcement was made in response to a notice regarding the delay in payment of pensionary benefits and salaries to the employees of the railways.

Dar emphasised that all employees had received their salaries and pensions on the day of the announcement, as per the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to ensure the timely payment of salaries before Eid ul-Fitr.

Furthermore, Dar informed the house that the dues of retired employees till 2022 had also been cleared. This decision will come as a relief to retired employees who have been waiting for their dues to be paid.

In addition to the salary and pension payments, Dar said that a sum of Rs3 billion has been spent on rehabilitating railway tracks that were damaged during the floods. This investment is expected to help improve the railway infrastructure and ensure smoother and safer travel for passengers.

The announcement made by Dar will be welcomed by the employees of Railways and retired employees, who have been awaiting their payments for some time.
