Govt extends tenure of PCB management Committee

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has extended the tenure of the Management Committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) with effect from April 22.

The approval was granted after the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination’s Sports Wing sent a summary in this regard. It is recalled that the coalition government had formed a management committee under the supervision of Najam Sethi in Dec 2022 to run the affairs of the board after former PCB chief Ramiz Raja was removed from the post.

The tenue of the committee has expired today April 21, 2023. The ministry has now recommended two to four weeks extension in the tenure.

“Meanwhile, PCB has been also directed to submit a comprehensive report of activities so far made under the supervision of Management Committee, after revival of PCB’s Constitution 2014 from 22.12.2022 to 20.04.2023 (Annex-Ill),” reads the ministry’s letter.
