Discipline, rule of law take centre stage as UoG academics meet

GUJRAT: The 23rd Academic Council of the University of Gujrat met here at Hafiz Campus here with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Shabbar Atiq in the chair.

The proceeding of the meeting began with the unanimous approval of the agenda of the previous meeting.

The meeting approved various academic proposals put forward by the board of studies of various departments.

The august house thoroughly discussed, reviewed, and finally approved the ‘migration policy‘ with regard to post-graduate and doctoral degree programs.

The meeting discussed various useful suggestions with regard to the compulsory teaching of the Holy Quran for a better understanding of faith and Islamic values in compliance with the HEC policy and rules.

Award of degree to ‘Fifth semester induction students who complete their BS was also discussed.

Prof. Dr Shabbar Atiq said that the rule of law must be maintained for a smooth get-going. Higher education institutions need to provide topnotch academic and research facilities to their students.

The meeting was attended by Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Muhammad Mushahid Anwar, Additional Registrar Muhammad Raes Ashraf, deans of various faculties, chairpersons and HoDs, including controller examinations, directors of colleges and sub-campuses.

Deputy Secretary Higher Education Department Government of Punjab Muhammad Arfan Anwar attended online.
