Naila becomes first Pakistani climber to ascend six world peaks higher than 8000 meters

ISLAMABAD: Renowned Pakistani climber Naila Kiani successfully climbed 4th highest Peak Mt. Lhotse (8516-M) on May 16, 2023 – and only two days before, Naila conquered Mt. Everest on May 14, 2023.

Now Naila has becomes the first Pakistani woman to climb Mount Lhotse and the country’s fastest woman to ascend six peaks higher than 8,000 metres. Naila has already conquered Mt. Everest, and Mt. Annapurna this season. She and Pasang Temba Sherpa arrived at the summit of Mount Lhotse at 8:13 a.m.

Naila had climbed K2, G-I, and G-II before her most recent achievements. She is a Pakistani banker living in Dubai who is also an amateur boxer and a mother to two daughters. In addition, Naila Kiani ascent of Mount Everest this season was the first international ascent by a climber.

Another good news that Ms Nadia Azad (British Pakistani) and Pemba Chhiri Sherpa reached the summit of the fourth highest mountain of the world on May 16, 2023, at 11:00 am, they reached the summit. Nadia has completed three 14-thousanders this season including Everest on May 14 and Annapurna on April 15, 2023.

President Alpine Club of Pakistan, Mr. Abu Zafar Sadiq congratulated both the female climbers. He opined that such achievements by Pakistani women would attract young girls to adventure sports n learn to encounter challenges in their lives n become more responsible n productive member of the society.
