Soldier martyred in KP’s Bajaur district

RAWALPINDI: A soldier was martyred in a skirmish with terrorists in the Loesam area of Bajaur district, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.

The military’s media wing added that during the exchange of fire, one terrorist was also killed.

The martyred sepoy was identified by the military as Shafiq ur Rehman, age 23 from DI Khan. “Sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area,” added the ISPR.

“Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and these sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.”

Earlier, two soldiers embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire with terrorists in Tirah Valley.

According to the military’s media wing, the exchange took place between troops and terrorists on Tuesday and resulted in the killing of two militants. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists.
