Wanted by anti-corruption bureau, Elahi remains at large

LAHORE: Police have taken measures to secure his residence in Lahore, erecting barriers on both sides of the thoroughfare it is located, but former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, who is wanted by the anti-corruption bureau following the dismissal of his bail, has yet to be apprehended.

The installation of barriers has caused inconvenience for residents living along Zahoor Elahi Road, hindering their movement.

Earlier, an anti-corruption team, accompanied by the police, conducted a raid on Elahi’s residence situated on Zahoor Elahi Road. However, he managed to evade arrest, prompting the police to take additional security measures by setting up roadblocks that restrict general traffic.

In addition to the heightened security measures, internet services in the vicinity of Elahi’s house have been temporarily suspended.
