RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shehryar Afridi was rearrested shortly after his release from Adiala Jail Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
The PTI leader was taken into custody from Sector F-8 of the federal capital Islamabad under Section 3 of Maintenance of Public order (3MPO).
Under section 3 of Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) section 3, the former federal minister has been put under house arrest for another 15 days, said deputy commissioner Rawalpindi.
Earlier, Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday declaring Shehryar Afridi’s arrest under 3MPO‘illegal’ ordered his release.
It is worth mentioning here that after arrest of Chairman PTI and former prime minister Imran Khan from premises of Islamabad High Court (IHC) on May 9, violent protests broke out across country.
Annoyed over detention of the party chief, the PTI activists held protest in remote and major cities across Balochistan, Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad after which armed forces were summoned to tackle the law and order situation.
