Mother of jailed Hurriyat leader passes away in IIOJK

SRINAGAR: Mother of illegally detained Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League leader Merajuddin Nanda passed away in Srinagar, occupied Jammu and Kashmir, last night.

She was suffering from depression and mental health issues due to continued illegal detention of her loved son. She died last night at Soura Institute of Medical Science in Srinagar.

Merajuddin Nanda, a resident of Hajin area of Bandipora, is currently facing illegal detention in Indian Central Jail Agra, Utter Pardesh.

He is one among jailed Hurriyat members, who has a strong commitment to the Kashmiris’ right to self determination. The jailed leader’s mother tried several times to meet her son in jail but was not allowed by the authorities.

Meanwhile, APHC leaders including Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar, Abdul Ahad Parra, Hakeem Abdul Rasheed, APHC-AJK chapter Convener Mahmood Ahmad Saghar, Bar Association member Advocate GN Shaheen and others in their statements expressed their condolences with Merajuddin Nanda on the death of his mother.

Indian troops martyr a youth in IIOJK

Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred a Kashmiri youth in Kulgam district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The youth was martyred by the troops during a cordon and search operation in Hoowra area of the district. Earlier, one Indian policeman was injured in an attack in the same area. The operation was going on till last reports came in.
