ISLAMABAD: The prime minister and the army chief celebrated Eid al-Adha with troops stationed in Parachinar town of Kurram district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, located along the Afghanistan border.
Shehbaz Sharif and Gen. Syed Asim Munir were accompanied by Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb.
They joined officers and troops in offering Eid prayers, followed by exchanging greetings. Sharif commended the army for its unwavering resolve, operational preparedness, and professional standards.
Addressing the officers and troops, the prime minister expressed his admiration for their efforts and unwavering commitment to defending the borders of the country with bravery and courage. He acknowledged the sacrifices they make, facing difficult conditions and challenges while upholding their duty to protect and secure the nation.

The prime minister applauded the officers and troops for prioritising the nation’s security, regardless of joyful occasions or solemn events like Eid. He paid tribute to the armed forces, including the army, air force, and navy, for their dedicated service and determination in safeguarding the country’s borders amidst numerous obstacles.
Prime Minister Sharif extended Eid greetings to the entire nation, including the officers and troops of the armed forces. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eliminating those who disrupt peace, commit acts of terrorism, or aid and abet such activities.
Emphasising the unity of the Pakistani nation, he said the nefarious forces seeking to create chaos and divisions have been defeated. The prime minister recognized the martyrs as the pride and invaluable asset of Pakistan, emphasizing their honour and dignity.
During the visit, the prime minister laid a wreath at the monument dedicated to the martyrs and offered prayers. Gen. Munir, along with high-ranking officers from the provincial government and the commander of the Peshawar Corps, received the prime minister on this occasion.
PRESIDENT URGES TOLERANCE, UNITY
President Dr Arif Alvi expressed his confidence in the power of tolerance, unity, and glory to shape new chapters, while acknowledging that history cannot be rewritten.
In his Eid greetings to the nation and Muslims worldwide, he emphasized the importance of Pakistan, as the fifth-largest country, playing a significant role in the international community.
On his Twitter, the president shared that he had recently completed his second Hajj after a span of 30 years. He offered prayers primarily for Pakistan and its people, beseeching Allah to guide the nation towards progress, prosperity, and a way out of their challenges.
President Alvi invoked the names of Allah, Al-Ghafur (The Forgiving) and Al-Raheem (The Merciful), seeking their acceptance of his supplications and prayers. He highlighted the exemplary forgiveness of the prophet towards his adversaries and urged everyone to follow suit, adding that he had made efforts in this regard.
The president humbly requested forgiveness from anyone he may have knowingly or unknowingly hurt through his actions.
