Attack on Quetta station leaves policeman injured

QUETTA: At least one officer sustained injuries during an attack on the Civil Lines police station in Quetta. According to local authorities, unidentified attackers targeted the station by throwing a hand grenade, fleeing the scene soon after.

The assailant, who was riding a motorcycle, hurled the grenade towards the station located in the White Road area of Quetta. The explosive device detonated upon impact, resulting in a powerful explosion.

Constable Abdul Saboor, who was on duty at the time, suffered injuries as a result of the attack.

The entire incident was captured by the police station’s closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras. The footage reveals the entrance of the police station and shows the grenade being thrown into the building, followed by the subsequent explosion.

The explosion caused a fire to break out, and an official inside the police post also sustained injuries due to the impact of the blast.

This incident is part of a disturbing trend of attacks on law enforcement agencies throughout the province in recent months. Just last month, a suicide blast in the Turbat district resulted in the death of one policeman, while a female constable sustained injuries.

Authorities are actively investigating the attack on the station, aiming to identify and apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this act of violence.
