Two former KP MPAs arrested from ATC

PESHAWAR: Two former members of KP Assembly were arrested by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police on Saturday from the court premises after the Anti-Terrorism Court Peshawar rejected their pre-arrest bail application.

Former MPA Arbab Wasim Hayat and Malik Wajid had appeared before the court to plead for a pre-arrest bail, in a case registered against them at Peshawar’s Khan Raziq police station.

The court rejected their application for pre-arrest bail after which the police arrested the two PTI leaders from the premises.

Ex-MPA Neelum Hayat quits politics

On the other hand, former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Neelum Hayat Malik condemned the May 9 vandalism and announced quitting the party and politics.

In a statement issued on Saturday, she said that after arrest of the PTI chairman, the way protests held was condemnable and could not be justified in any way. Neelum Hayat Malik said that she don’t believe in politics of vandalism and what took place at Core Commander House should not have been done.

She said, “Pakistan army protects our borders. It is our pride. The country stands firm due to our armed forces.”
