LAHORE: Punjab Inspector General of Police Punjab (IGP) Dr. Usman Anwar on Thursday claimed that the functioning of Punjab Police has been developed on modern technology through software and other programs, saying that’s why Police Service Centers across the province have been providing fast and efficient service to the citizens.
“Equal attention has been paid to and additional resources are being provided to anti-crime operations as well as investigations. Similarly, thousands of officers have been promoted across the board on merit and seniority basis to raise morale of the police force”, Punjab Inspector General of Police Punjab (IGP) Dr. Usman Anwar expressed the views while talking to under-training officers of 37th Mid-Career Management Course who came on a study visit to the Central Police Office.
On the occasion, the delegation from National Institute of Management Karachi was informed about the working and professional affairs of the Punjab Police.
The IG police pointed out that health screening of the force was complete and vaccination was underway, adding that bravery medals are being launched for successful completion of dangerous operations.
Dr Usman Anwar informed the training officers of the delegation about service delivery and recent anti-crime measures. The IGP also answered the questions put forward by the visiting under-training officers. Punjab DIG Operations Waqas Nazir briefed the participants of the delegation about police working and operational procedures. The participants of the delegation were also given a visit to the Martyrs and Ghazi Wall and other parts of the Central Police Office. At the end of the visit, IG Punjab gave commemorative souvenirs to head of the delegation and other officers.
On the occasion, Additional IG Training Tariq Rustam Chauhan, DIG Headquarters Humayun Bashir Tarar, DIG Training Munir Ahmad Zia Rao, DIG IT Ahsan Younas and AIG Operations Dr Asad Ijaz Malhi and other officers were also present.
Police, SADA team up for treatment of hearing and speech impaired kids
Meanwhile, an MoU has been signed between Punjab Police and the Society for Audiological and Developmental Ailments (SADA) for modern treatment of hearing and speech impaired special children of Punjab Police employees.
In a ceremony held at the Central Police Office, Punjab IG Police Dr Usman Anwar and President Society for Audiological and Developmental Ailments (SADA) Dr Afzal Alam signed the MoU.
On the ccasion, the IGP said that under the MoU, focal persons will be appointed for the treatment of children of police employees suffering from hearing and speech impairment.
The data of the affected children will be shared mutually so that practical measures can be taken for immediate treatment of all such children.
Dr Usman Anwar informed the SADA will provide free and discounted speech language therapy services to the special children of police employees.
Meanwhile, the police will organize a free camp for hearing screening of newborn babies of police employees at Qila Gujjar Singh Hospital.
