PEF launches Shahr-e-Ilm project to provide education to out-of-school children

LAHORE: The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has launched the “Shahr-e-Ilm Project” across nine districts of Punjab. This groundbreaking initiative falls under the umbrella of the Education Voucher Scheme (EVS) Phase 17.

With this project, PEF aims to provide education to approximately 84,000 out-of-school children by enrolling them in PEF-affiliated schools.

A total of 23 union councils/wards of Lahore District, 38 of Bahawalpur, 19 of Faisalabad, 5 of Gujranwala, 35 of Rahim Yar Khan, 1 of Multan, 30 of Muzaffargarh, 4 of Rawalpindi, and 64 of Sheikhupura will be participating in this initiative.

Private school owners from these areas are invited to apply for partnerships, and selections will be conducted solely based on merit.

Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications online by the deadline of August 12. Additionally, applicants are required to send the signed printout of the online application along with attested copies of relevant documents through postal courier to the Director of the Education Voucher Scheme by August 16.
