The Punjab IG Police and others have been made parties in the petition. In a written order by the LHC, the court said parties should submit a report on the next hearing regarding recovery of Niazi.
“If Niazi is in the custody of any party, he should be produced in the court on August 18,” said the court order.
The name of Hassaan Niazi, the nephew of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman, has been included in the A-Plus category of accused. Police sources said the accused, involved in the May 9 incident, had been named in A-Plus and A categories. According to sources in the police, a Lahore police team will depart for Quetta next week to take custody of Hassaan Niazi.
