Court orders Attock jailer to arrange PTI chief’s conversation with sons by Sept 15

ISLAMABAD: A special court set up to hear the cypher case on Monday ordered authorities to arrange conversation of PTI chairman with his sons by September 15.

The court issued directives on the contempt of court petition filed by the PTI chief against the Superintendent of Attock Jail for disobeying Aug 30 court order.

Advocate Shiraz Ahmad Ranjha appeared before Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain on behalf of former prime minister and submitted that despite the court order, his client was not allowed to talk to his sons by phone.

The official contended that under the Official Secrets Act the accused could not allowed to talk to anyone by phone.

On Advocate Ranjha’s insistence that the jailer had committed contempt of court, the judge directed the Superintendent of Attock Jail to implement the order by September 15.
