PM constitutes committee to address housing facilities to retired, serving govt employees

Islamabad: Prime Minister has constituted a seven member high powered secretaries committee for provision of housing facilities to federal government employees.

Sources said that the PM has approved a committee comprising of Cabinet Secretary Kamran All Afzal, Establishment Secretary   Inamullah Khan Dharejo, Secretary EAD   Dr. Kazim Niaz, Secretary Commerce Sualeh Ahmed Faruqui, Secretary Parliamentary Affairs Muhammad Shakeel Malik, Secretary Law and Justice  Raja Naeem Akbar and Secretary Interior Division.

Secretary to PM Dr Touqeer Shah has issued an order for provision of housing facilities to the federal government employees.

The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) and Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation (PHAF) are mandated to provide housing facilities to the Federal Government employees.

Both the organizations are undertaking projects which are marred with significant delays.

Resultantly, the Federal Government employees are not being facilitated with reference to their housing entitlements in a timely and effective manner.

In view of the above, the Prime Minister has been pleased to constitute a Steering Committee, consisting of Federal Secretaries, to oversee the projects being undertaken by both the entities in order to ensure their timely completion.

The Committee shall hold its meeting on monthly basis, whereby the secretary of housing and Works as well as both the Director General FGEHA and Managing Director PHAF would brief the updated status of the ongoing projects, being undertaken by both the entities, and seek the Committee’s advice to materialize the entitlements of in-service and retired employees of Federal government.
