Punjab endeavoring to benefit from China’s experience for progress: CM Naqvi

BEIJING/LAHORE: Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that the Punjab government was endeavouring to attain the target of durable progress in the province by benefitting from the experiences of China.

Caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi was speaking at a dinner hosted in his honor by the Ambassador of Pakistan in Beijing Moinul Haque in Beijing. Official delegation of the Punjab government was warmly welcomed by the Ambassador on reaching the Embassy, said a handout issued here on Sunday.

On the occasion, the CM said that Punjab is open as well as suitable for investment and investment process is being simplified through one window operation. Naqvi disclosed that special concessions would be granted to the Chinese investors for making investments in Punjab. On the occasion, Moinul Haque said that the arrival of a delegation under the leadership of CM Mohsin Naqvi from Punjab is welcoming.

Provincial ministers – SM Tanveer, Amir Mir, Azfar Ali Nasir, Ibrahim Hassan Murad. Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman and Secretary Finance Mujahid Sherdil participated in the dinner.

Earlier, the Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister left for China along with a high-level delegation on a five-day official visit on Sunday.

The Acting Chinese Consul General saw the chief minister off at Lahore Airport. He expressed good wishes for the chief minister regarding his visit to China.

“It is hoped that your visit to China will be crucial for the promotion of mutual cooperation,” the acting Chinese consul general said.

Provincial ministers and officers concerned were also present on the occasion.

The chief minister is scheduled to meet the businessmen, investors and industrialists during his visit. He will also hold meetings with Chinese authorities to increase cooperation in Agriculture, IT and technology sectors.

“The visit to China will provide an opportunity to provide better facilities to the people of Punjab,” Mohsin Naqvi said before his departure.

“China has always acted as a sincere friend. All efforts are being made to bring immediate and lasting results of this visit,” he added.
