First-ever Duathlon Sports Festival enthralls tourists in Malam Jabba

SWAT: Duathlon Sports Festival organized for first time in scenic Malam Jabba Valley drew a large number of tourists.

Malam Jabba Ski Resort organized the first ever Duathlon Sports festival in Malam Jabba valley at an altitude of 9200 feet wherein combined cycling and racing competitions were held on a 15km track consisting of difficult and rocky mountain paths.

As many as 40 male and female athletes from 20 teams participated in the competitions. The players completed the mission by racing the bicycles with extreme skill on difficult hilly track.

In the individual category of the event, Athlete Danish Mand won the first position, Israr won the second position and Rizwan third position.

Similarly, in the group category, Abdullah and Bahar got first position while Khizar and Israr got the second position.

Brigade Commander, Brig Sajid Akbar was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony, while Assistant Commissioner Charbagh Muhammad Yar Khan was also present on the occasion.

On the occasion, Brigadier Sajid Akbar while expressing his happiness over sports gala, said that positive sports activities in Malam Jabba are a clear proof that this valley is no less than a paradise for tourists and the views here were inviting them.

At the end of the event, cash prizes were awarded to players who secured top positions in the festival.

The athletes on the occasion said that the track was slippery and difficult due to rain, but they sometimes ran a bicycle and sometimes took a walk to reach their destination by adventure.

Tourists coming from all over the country said that this type of activity in Malam Jabba increases the entertainment, while the tourists enjoyed the competitions, they made their trip memorable by taking a ride on the chairlift.
