245 ‘financers of militants’ arrested in KP this year: report

PESHAWAR: As many as 245 “financers of militants ” have been arrested and 198 cases registered in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) during the ongoing year, says a report issued on Monday.

According to a report, 71 cases have been registered in Peshawar region followed by Khyber where 67 cases have been registered.

Similarly, 10 cases have been registered in Mohmand and Mardan each.

The document, however, reveals that the law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) have failed to trace 65 financers despite lodging cases against them.

The report tells that total 777 persons have been nominated in these cases, of whom 15 have been killed in encounters.

Similarly, 14 financers have been handed down penalties.
