IHC issues notices in ex-MNA Ali Wazir case

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday issued notices to all parties in the terrorism case, including secretary interior and Islamabad inspector general of Police (IGP), registered against ex-MNA and co-founder of Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) Ali Wazir.

IHC judge Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb heard the petition filed by Wazir, seeking disposal of case against him.

Advocate Ataullah Kundi, who represented the ex-MNA in the court, said hardly 15 minutes after the registration of a case against his client, another case was registered, and that too of terrorism.

Kundi, on the occasion, referred to the Supreme Court’s (SC) verdict in Sughran Bibi case. “A false case was registered against Wazir; therefore this is my request to the court to dispose it of,” the lawyer said.

The court adjourned the case’s hearing until next week.
