FAISALABAD: The wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central leader Farrukh Habib has written a letter to Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, requested g him to take notice of her husband’s disappearance and ensure his speedy recovery.
In the letter, Farrukh Habib’s wife has stated that her husband was arrested by unknown persons, and has since been missing. She has also stated that a writ petition was filed in the Lahore High Court for his recovery, but no progress has been made so far.
The PTI leader’s wife has further stated that her husband’s enforced disappearance is a clear violation of his constitutional rights and that the authorities have failed to produce him in any court. She has appealed to the Chief Justice to take urgent notice of the matter and ensure her husband’s safe return.
Farrukh Habib, PTI central leader, had been underground since a state crackdown launched on the party after violent events of May 9 and was arrested by plainclothesmen from Gwadar, Balochistan.
At the time of arrest, he was staying in a local hotel in Gwadar. Eight other people, including Habib’s brother and father-in-law, were also arrested in the raid. They were taken to an unknown place after arrest.
