Fazl, Hamas leaders urge Muslim world to unite against Israeli atrocities

  • Haniyeh, Mashal say atrocities in Palestine, Kashmir slap in face of human rights proponents
  • JUI-F chief meets Hamas leadership in Qatar to discuss various matters, including provision of humanitarian aid in Gaza

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman who reached Qatar on Sunday held a meeting with the Hamas leadership to discuss the situation in Gaza and Israeli aggression against the Palestinians.

According to the JUI-F spokesperson, the JUI-F chief held a meeting with Qatar-based Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and former chief of the resistance group Khaled Mashal in Qatar.

On the occasion, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh urged the Muslim world to unite against Israeli atrocities.

“It is the duty of the Muslim Ummah to unite against Israeli atrocities”, Haniyeh stressed.

On the occasion, the JUI-F chief and Ismail Haniyeh said that Israel was trying to turn Al-Qus (Qibla Awwal) into their temple by oppressing Palestinians.

In a veiled criticism of the west, the Hamas chief regretted that countries claiming to be human rights champions were sending shiploads of weapons to help Tel Aviv.

“The Muslim Ummah should also come to the field to support their Palestinian mothers, sisters and brothers”, Haniyeh stated.

“Worst atrocities being committed in Kashmir and Palestine since a long time are a slap in the face of the human rights claimants”, Khaled Mashal said.

“Maulana Fazlur Rehman is playing the role of the ambassador of Palestine in Pakistan,” Hamas leader Khaled Mashal said.

The JUI-F chief said that hands of the proponents of human rights were stained with the blood of innocent children and women. He declared that Palestinians were not only fighting for their land but also for the freedom of the first Qibla while fulfilling their duty on behalf of the Muslim Ummah.

“The time has come for the Muslim Ummah to stand side by side with the Palestinian brothers in the practical field,” Fazl emphasized.

Secretary General JUI Sindh Maulana Rashid Mahmud Soomro and Mufti Abrar Ahmed also participated in the meeting.

During the trip, it is expected that Fazl will also reach out to the Arab world leadership to find a way to provide aid to Gaza who are facing the barbarism of Israeli forces.

The JUI-F leader is expected to visit Turkey after Qatar and is expected to hold meetings with government officials in both countries to facilitate peace talks.

A day earlier, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Saudi, Qatari, Emirati, Egyptian and Jordanian foreign ministers in Amman who called for a ceasefire.

However, the top US diplomat failed to reach a resolution with the Arab leaders and maintained that a ceasefire would only give Hamas time to regroup and launch more attacks.

The Palestinian death toll has climbed past 9,488, mostly women, children and the elderly, with thousands of others injured and displaced as Israel has continued relentless bombing in the narrow Gaza enclave compounded with an on-ground invasion since October 7, when a surprise raid by Hamas claimed around 1,400 Israeli lives.
