APHC expresses concern over surge in Indian state terrorism in IIOJK

SRINAGAR: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has expressed serious concern over the surge in Indian state terrorism and atrocities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said innocent people are being harassed and humiliated during cordon and search operations, whereas confiscation of civilians’ properties are being used by India as a war tactic to suppress Kashmiris’ struggle for right to self-determination.

He said the Modi regime is crafting false narratives of investment and development to justify its illegal actions of 5 August 2019 and intending to paint the picture that all is well in IIOJK but the fact is that all is against normal there. Ground situation negates India’s false narrative of return of normalcy in IIOJK, he said adding even so-called pro-India Kashmiri politicians are questioning Modi’s normalcy narrative in IIOJK.

He said the United Nations has passed several resolutions on Kashmir but the lingering dispute is yet to be resolved. He said the Indian forces have detained thousands of Kashmiri youth under black laws, including Public Safety Act (PSA) and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and conduct raids on the residences of the people but they will never succeed in suppressing the Kashmir freedom movement.

The spokesman said the Kashmiri people reject the illegal and unilateral actions of August 05, 2019, including the repeal of Kashmir’s special status by the Modi-led fascist Indian government.

He deplored that India, which claims to be the largest democracy of the world, is committing the worst kind of human rights violations in IIOJK and appealed to the international community to hold India accountable for its brutalities on innocent Kashmiri people. The APHC spokesman urged the world community to impress upon India to stop massive rights abuses by its troops in IIOJK. He also appealed to the United Nations to resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute according to its resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
