Punjab Police arrest Pakistani ‘Charles Sobhraj’ from Italy after 17 years

ISLAMABAD: Punjab Police arrested the Pakistani ‘Charles Sobraj’ who fled from Pakistan after killing two people and kept his identity hidden in multiple countries including Holland and South Africa.

The Proclaimed Offender (PO) was arrested in the case of murder after 17 years from Italy through Interpol.

Accused Abrar had killed two people in Gujranwala along with his associates and fled abroad in 2006.

After the incident, the accused first fled to South Africa and then to Holland, police said

“Punjab Police arrested the accused after issuing a red notice from Interpol. This year, the total number of arrested advertisements from foreign countries has reached 129,” Police said.

Punjab IG said the accused should be punished by completing the legal procedures soon.

Punjab IG said that the arrested accused will be transferred to Pakistan.
