LAHORE: Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday visited Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) and reviewed the progress on the up-gradation project. He made a detailed visit to the expansion project and observed the ongoing construction activities.
Mohsin Naqvi inspected the three floors of the hospital and reviewed the ongoing work in the private wards and rooms under construction. He ordered that the private rooms be made more spacious to provide better comfort to patients.
Addressing the officials present, the Chief Minister said that the upgradation project should be completed within the stipulated time frame. He also directed that emergency beds be increased, LED screens be installed for the convenience of patients and doctors, and work be carried out in three shifts to expedite the project.
Apart from reviewing the project, the caretaker chief minister also visited the patients under treatment in the ward and inquired about their well-being. He talked to the patients and the doctors and listened to their problems.
Taking notice of a complaint regarding overcharging at the canteen, Mohsin Naqvi ordered immediate action and directed that the matter be investigated thoroughly. Provincial Minister Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Dr. Javed Akram, Secretary Health, Secretary Construction and Communications, Commissioner, Special Secretary Health, Chief Executive Officer PIC Dr. Anjum Jalal, MS Dr. Tahsin and related officials were also present on this occasion.
