- Terms political polarisation not a good omen, saying PPP had no issue with any political party
- Promises to introduce ‘mazdoor card’ and ‘Sindh Card’ after coming to power
SWAT: Dubbing PML-N “Mehngai-League”, Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday took a dig at the leadership of erstwhile allied party, and assigned the blame for the severe economic hardships of the masses and unprecedented inflation to the latter.
“The masses are grappling with severe economic hardships. Inflation has reached a record level and the country is witnessing unemployment and poverty while current price-hike has deprived the poor of bread. All this mass and problems are created by the “Mehngai League”, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari categorically said while addressing a big public meeting in Dir Stadium in Upper Dir district here on Tuesday.
I am humbled by the love and support shown to me by my brothers and sisters in Upper Dir. The PPP believes in building a Pakistan where the marginalised and the weak are protected, where the circumstances of one’s birth doesn’t determine access to healthcare, and above all else… pic.twitter.com/4vwtXoz9tN

“You saw the “Mehngai League’s” face that has given nothing to people except inflation and harships,” he said as a charged crowd chanted Pro-Bhutto slogans.
“The lion turned out to be a cat,” he jeered, launching a broadside at Nawaz Sharif (without naming him) that “who returned last month to stage a re-entry to power in the upcoming national elections but I do not understand what the old age politicians were up to.”
He further said the old generation politicians turn political competition into personal enmity, adding that political polarisation was not good for the country and his party had no issue with any political party but those who were creating problems for the nation would be an issue for him.
He stated the PPP if came to power would introduce “mazdoor card for the working class.”
He said his government would double salaries and create new jobs with the help of private sector. The PPP chairman took exception to reports about the rollback of 18th constitutional amendment and said his government would strengthen it and ensure its full implementation.
He said the politics of hatred had divided the nation into groups that was not a good omen for the country.
He said the ‘politics of division’ must be ended. Without naming the PML-N supremo, he said that the politics of Lahore were neither to play, nor let others to play.
“The issue was the senior politicians as they did not want youngsters to come forward, he claimed, adding that they had formed an alliance to steer the country out of crises and it did well in the start but ended in fiasco.
Bilawal said the situation was going from bad to worse with every passing day. “I am now disappointed, the youth are now disappointed”, he said, adding that now he would only focus on elections.
Criticizing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, the PPP chairman said that he had destroyed the country and introduced the politics of hatred, disrespect and abuses.” “Khan is in jail, I don’t like someone to be in jail as it is not a good omen”, Bilawal said, adding it did not look like he would have any role in politics in Pakistan anymore.
The PPP chairman asked the people of Dir to support his party in the next general elections. He said the PPP promised to change fate of the people if it came into power.
He said the PPP would maintain the tax-free zone of Malakand and it was his promise with the people of this region.
He further said that he would struggle for the people rights with the public support.
Bilawal said the PPP always represented rural and marginalized areas and the neglected class of society.
He announced to introduce the ‘Sindh Card’ in the entire country that benefitted the poor segment of society.
He said the PML-N and PTI never cared for the poor but they represented the elite class
“The Sindh Card was for poor peasants not for the landlords,” adding that the PML-N wanted to abolish the 18th constitutional amendment and national finance commission (NFC) award but the PPP promised to further improve the NFC award,” he said.
