KMU conducts MDCAT in 11 centers, 7 cities across KP province

PESHAWAR: Medical and Dental Centralized Admission Test (MDCAT) for admission to all government and private medical and dental colleges of the province was successfully conducted by Khyber Medical University (Peshawar) in seven different cities of the province i.e Peshawar, Abbottabad, Kohot, Chakdarra, Swat, Mardan, and Dera Ismail Khan.

Arrangements were done for a total of 46220 male and female students in the test. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Justice (R) Irshad Qaiser and Governor Haji Ghulam Ali personally visited the examination centers and showed full satisfaction. They applauded the best-ever coordinated effort between KMU, Provincial Government and security agencies.

Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nadeem Aslam Chaudhary, Advisor on Health, Additional Chief Secretary Abid Majeed, Commissioner Peshawar Mr. Zubair and Deputy Commissioner Peshawar visited all the examination centers and KMU control center. They showed complete satisfaction for the whole process adapted for the conduction of the test.

Dr Riaz Anwar thanked Dr Zia Ul Haq VC KMU, all staff members of KMU, Chief Secretary KP, ACS Home, Divisional and Assistant Commissioners, RPOs, DPO and security agencies and said that the test was conducted in a clear and transparent manner. He said that due to the foolproof arrangements and security plan of the home department and other institutions, the examination was conducted in a very peaceful environment and no complaint of malpractice was received from anywhere. There is not even a single unfair means case registered. Walk-through gates were installed at the entrances of all the centers, and searching through metal detectors. Bomb disposal squads and security agencies also performed duties at all the centers.
He further said that it was never possible without the approval and guidance of the deceased Hon CM KP and the current Hon CM KP.

Provincial secretary was also assigned for each examination center of the province, including Asghar Ali, Mahmood Hasan, Amer Sultan Tareen, Muhammad Dawood Khan, Nazar Hussain, Zulfiqar Ali Shah and Masood Ahmad, Muhammad Tahir Orakzai. Additional Chief Secretary Home KP headed the whole preparation of MDCAT in the entire province. It should be noted that one invigilator was appointed for twenty students in each examination center.

Students were searched at three places so that no mobile phone or any other electronic devices were taken inside the examination. Mobile phone signals were turned off at each examination center and seating and parking facilities were provided to the parents of the at a distance from the examination center. The papers for the examination centers were transferred under the supervision of two professors of KMU and one assistant commissioner. The result of the said test will be declared within two to three days under a very transparent procedure, while the answer bubble sheet copy of the concerned students along with the key will be uploaded on the KMU website within 24 hours from which the students can check their result by themselves.
Earlier, the officers of Pakistan and Medical and Dental Council visited the examination centers and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the KMU and provincial government. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also visited the examination centers of Peshawar and praised the arrangements and initiatives of the KMU administration and the provincial government, expressing full confidence in the successful conduct of the test.
