Siraj holds feudal lords and political leadership accountable for sufferings in southern Punjab

RAJANPUR: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sirajul Haq has attributed the deprivation in southern Punjab to the feudal lords and waderas, asserting that despite the region consistently voting for them, these elected representatives consistently deceived the voters.

Addressing a public gathering marking the conclusion of a two-day road karwan from Wahwa D.G Khan to Kot Mitthan Rajanpur on Monday, he criticized major political parties, including the PPP, PML-N, and PTI, for making false promises to the residents of southern Punjab. He emphasized that, as elections approached, these parties were revisiting the electorate with the same empty assurances.

Sirajul Haq urged the public to vote for JI on February 8, promising progress and prosperity under their leadership. Throughout the journey, the JI leader received a warm reception at various stops, with a large number of people expressing support through slogans. He was scheduled to visit Sindh and address an event there.

The JI chief expressed concern that ruling parties were seeking support from the military establishment but claimed they were democratic parties. He hoped that institutions would maintain neutrality and allow the people to choose their leadership through fair and transparent means on election day. He emphasized that the masses would hold the established parties accountable on polling day.

He criticized mainstream political parties for their silence on Israeli atrocities in Gaza, attributing it to their fear of Washington. In contrast, he highlighted the JI’s commitment to the Palestinian cause, citing pro-Palestine rallies held in Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar, and Lahore. He affirmed that the JI would persist in its struggle for the Palestinian cause.

Siraj also criticized former governments for destroying the economy, accumulating massive debts, and subjecting the country to inflation and unemployment. He accused former rulers of prioritizing personal wealth over providing basic facilities to the masses, leading to widespread hopelessness and unemployment among the youth. He asserted that real change could only be achieved by choosing JI in elections, emphasizing that the tested parties were not a solution to the country’s problems, even if given another opportunity.
