LAHORE: As the general elections are just two months away, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had decided to target special pockets in Punjab rather than focusing on all seats, i9t was learnt on Thursday.
Sources said that in this connection former president Asif Ali Zardari, who was currently staying in Lahore, had given assignments to the party leaders.
They elaborated that the party would award tickets to only those candidates in Punjab whose chances of success were comparatively brighter.
Furthermore, they disclosed, the PPP had also started reaching out to disgruntled party members in the province in order to woo them ahead of elections.
Sources revealed that the party had already contacted political families in Muzzafargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur, and a committee had been formed on the instructions of Zardari for establishing contacts with other political parties and leading politicians.
