Customs seizes foreign diesel worth Rs60 million

KHUZDAR/THATTA: Collectorate of Customs, Balochistan on Sunday claimed to have seized foreign diesel worth Rs60 million in an operation conducted at Customs check post Wango in Khuzdar.

According to a statement issued by the spokesman for Collectorate of Customs, 39000 litre foreign diesel was recovered from three passenger buses during checking at Customs Check Post Wango in district Khuzdar of Balochistan province. The seized foreign diesel valued at Rs. 60 million.

The operation was conducted by the staff of Customs check post Wango in compliance with the directives of Chief Collector Collectorate of Customs, Balochistan, Abdul Qadir Memon and Collector Customs, Khuzdar, Saleem Memon.

Separately, in Thatta, a police team on Sunday claimed to have seized 240 kg gutka material, 1000 gutka packets and a Land Cruiser vehicle in an operation.

On the instructions of SSP Thatta Ali Bakhsh, In-charge CIA Police Thatta Syed Faiz Ali Shah, along with the staff, conducted a successful operation on Thatta-Karachi road near Ghharo Golai and seized 240 kg gutka material, 1000 gutka packets and a Land Cruiser vehicle in an operation.

In the operation, the notorious criminal, Ghulam Mustafa, managed to flee taking advantage of darkness. The police have registered a case against the accused under the Gutka Act. Several drug cases are registered against accused Ghulam Mustafa alias Babu Jat in Thatta and other districts of Sindh.
