Cop, son shot dead in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Armed men shot dead a policeman along with his son in jurisdiction of Ramna police station on Sunday and fled the scene.

According to details, three armed men ambushed a cop who was returning home along with his son after performing duty.

As a result of firing, cop Ashraf and his son Zeeshan were killed on the spot and assailants fled the scene. The bodies were shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for postmortem.

Meanwhile, the crackdown on electricity theft continues to bear fruit.

According to the details, from 3rd to 10th of this month 2.36 billion rupees have been collected while 222 people have been arrested from all over the country under actions against electricity theft.

From First September this year to 10th of this month 53.65 billion rupees have been recovered. The concerned institutions are determined to continue the crackdown against electricity theft.
