RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday issued ‘contempt of court’ notice to Adiala Jail superintendent for not complying with court directives while hearing a May 9 case against Sheik Rashid.
Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Malik Ijaz Asif heard the case against the former interior minister and Awami Muslim League (AML) president Sheikh Rashid.
The counsel for the AML chief has filed the petition against the jail administration, requesting contempt proceedings for not allowing him to meet his client Sh Rashid in the jail.
During the hearing, the court ordered the Adiala Jail superintendent to appear before the court on Jan 26 and also sought a medical examination report of Sheikh Rashid.
Meanwhile, the court also summoned the investigation officers within two hours during the hearing of Sheikh Rashid’s case.
