LAHORE: Former Prime Minister and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday met with former President Asif Ali Zardari here.
Shehbaz Sharif conveyed Nawaz Sharif’s message on forming a coalition government. The two leaders met at the caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s house. Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was also present during the meeting.
Shehbaz Sharif met Asif Ali Zardari after receiving the task of negotiating with political leaders to form a coalition government. Shahbaz Sharif also conveyed the message of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif in his meeting with Asif Zardari.
On this occasion, both parties agreed to work together and hold meetings for government formation.
During the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif also contacted MQM Coordination Committee leader Khalid Maqbool by telephone and invited him to come to Lahore.
PML-N consultation committee reviews contacts with like-minded parties
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) consultation committee on Saturday held an important meeting to discuss the consultation process with the like-minded parties for formation of the governments in center and provinces.
Former Prime Minister and President of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Shehbaz Sharif presided over the meeting which discussed issues related to government formation.
Shahbaz Sharif informed the meeting about the contacts made with various parties on the instructions of Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. The meeting discussed various options for government formation.
The party leaders congratulated the party president on his victory in the February 8 elections. He said that with the grace of Allah and the support of the people, Muslim League (N) has emerged as the largest party, Shahbaz Sharif.
Shahbaz Sharif said the PML-N will fulfill the expectations of the people. He said the goal of the government will be to relieve the people from inflation and problems. Shahbaz Sharif said all political forces must be united for Pakistan.
Senator Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Maryam Aurangzeb, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Senator Azam Nazir Tarar, Attaullah Tarar and Khawaja Imran Nazir attended the meeting.
