Pakistan Navy demonstrates firepower in Exercise Sea Spark 2024

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Navy successfully demonstrated its firepower in the North Arabian Sea at the end of Exercise Sea Spark 2024, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.

Fleet Vice Admiral Mohammad Faisal Abbasi witnessed the firepower display, in which the ships hit air targets with surface-to-air FM 90 missiles.

The demonstration of live missile firing is a testament to the operational capability and tactical preparedness of the Pakistan Navy, the military media wing said.

Commander Abbasi expressed full satisfaction with the operational readiness of the Pakistan Navy, stating “Our force is ready to make the country’s maritime borders impregnable.”

On February 21, the launching ceremony of Pakistan Navy’s state-of-the-art fourth Offshore Patrol Vessel, PNS Yamama, was held at M/s DAMEN Shipyard Galati in Romania.

Vice Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ovais Ahmed Bilgrami, graced the occasion as the chief guest, marking a momentous occasion for Pakistan’s maritime capabilities.

The Vice Chief of the Naval Staff emphasised the critical role of maritime security amidst prevailing conventional and non-conventional threats in the Indian Ocean Region. He underscored the Pakistan Navy’s pivotal contribution to maintaining safe and secure sea lanes crucial for maritime trade.
