Brussels conference: Speakers demand release of Yasin Malik, other Kashmiri political prisoners

BRUSSELS: Speakers at a conference held in Brussels, the capital of European Union, have expressed grave concern over grave violations of human rights in Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and demanded immediate release of Muhammad Yasin Malik and other incarcerated Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders.

A conference titled ‘Human rights violations in Jammu & Kashmir with focus on saving Yasin Malik’s life” was organized by European Zone of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and attended by a large number of people from all shades of opinion including the leaders of Socialist Party, Humanist Party and Kashmir Community as well as journalists.

The speakers expressed serious concern over growing human rights violations in Kashmir, particularly illegal detention of JKLF chief Yasin Malik for last five years. They said that the Modi government’s attempts to change Yasin Malik’s life term announced last year into death sentence were loudly speaking about designs of Indian regime.

The speakers demanded immediate release of Yasin Malik and all Kashmiri political prisoners, saying the world conscience must raise voice over these issues.

On the occasion, a signature campaign for release of Yasin Malik was launched in Europe.

The conference adopted a four point resolution at the end, demanding from the United Nations, European Union and human rights organizations to raise their voice for release of Yasin Malik and other Kashmiri political prisoners, for ending human rights violations in IIOJK, for withdrawal of Indian troops from Kashmir and allowing Kashmiris to exercise their inalienable right of self-determination.

The conference was also attended by JKLF European Zone President Mushtaq Pasha. JKLF Britain Zone President Liaqat Lone, Ali Raza Syed, Hafeez Khan, Mushtaq Ahmed, Zahid Hussain Khan, Muzmil Haq Adil, Altaf Hussain Khan, Imran Butt, Dr Ishtiyaq Khan, Zahid Iqbal, Yal Smith, Khalid Mansoori, Mehmood Iqbal, Lateef Butt, Chaudhry Khalil, Sardar Sadeeq, Atif Baloch, Naseem Khan, Sabir Malik, Amjad Hussain Kaleem Khan and other political and social personalities.
