Baisakhi festival of kindness and happiness: PM, President

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Zardari on Sunday extended heartfelt felicitations to the Sikh community on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi.

In separate messages of warmth and inclusivity, both the Premier and President stated it as a festival of love, kindness, and jubilations.

The PM emphasized the significance of Baisakhi, describing the desi month of Baisakh as a symbol of love, spring, and the sharing of happiness.

He proudly acknowledged Pakistan’s rich tapestry of diverse faiths and cultures, stating that the vibrant colors of the Baisakhi festival only serve to enhance the beauty of diversity and inclusion within the nation.

Expressing the government’s readiness to welcome Sikh pilgrims, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured that every possible effort would be made to ensure their comfort and felicitation during their visit.

On this joyous occasion, PM Shehbaz Sharif conveyed a message of kindness, tolerance, harmony, and peace.

He called upon everyone to strive for a world that is prosperous and peaceful, urging all to play a constructive role in its realization.

President congratulates Sikh community on Baisakhi

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday extended his heartfelt felicitation to the Sikh community on the celebration of Baisakhi. In a message, the president said that the occasion gave a message of love, happiness, peace and affection. Pakistan felt pride over its diverse cultural heritage, President Secretariat Press Wing, in a press release, quoted the president as saying.

Pakistan would ensure all steps to facilitate the Sikh community, he further added. The president said that Pakistan was committed to safeguarding the rights of all minorities and they acknowledged the contributions made by the minorities in the progress and development of the country.
