Iran tells Russia it will react decisively to any Israeli provocation

TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has said that Iran’s limited operation was aimed at deterring, punishing, and warning the Zionist regime, and if this regime makes another move against Iran, it will face a very strong response.

Speaking in a phone call with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, Amirabdollahian elaborated on the objectives of Iran’s military action on specific targets in the occupied territories of Palestine.

Hailing Russia’s position regarding Iran’s legitimate action, he also highlighted Russia’s role in ending the Zionist regime’s crimes in the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the continuation of the aggression against Palestine, and preventing the escalation of tension in the region.

Meanwhile, Lavrov deplored some countries’ opposition in condemning the Zionist regime’s attack on the Iranian embassy in Damascus in the previous meeting of
the United Nations Security Council. We did not doubt that Iran would respond to the Israeli regime’s attacks ??and believe that Iran’s action was based on a responsible and restrained response, he added.

Expressing hope for the de-escalation of tensions in the region, he noted that Russia will strongly defend and support Iran’s action based on legitimate defense at the UN Security Council meeting.
