YouTuber Yasir Shami granted bail in Aamir Liaquat’s video leak case

KARACHI: Famous Pakistani YouTuber Yasir Shami, despite facing grave allegations related to the dissemination of viral videos involving the late Dr. Aamir, Yasir was granted bail upon furnishing a Rs2.5 million surety bond, after he surrendered himself before the Karachi City Courts on Thursday.

However, the court mandated his appearance before the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to provide his statement regarding the case.

This development follows several summons issued due to Shami’s repeated absence from legal proceedings. Legal representatives stressed the importance of his involvement in advancing the case, warning of potential arrest warrants for continued non-compliance.

Shami reportedly faced arrest warrants in connection with the late Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s video leak case. The news emerged following social media posts by Dr. Bushra Iqbal, the former wife of the politician-TV host, shedding light on the legal turmoil.

Dr. Bushra, embroiled in a legal dispute involving Yasir and Aamir’s third wife, Dania Shah, shared copies of the non-bailable arrest warrants on her Instagram, revealing details of the ongoing legal proceedings.

Detailing the specifics of the warrant, Dr. Bushra explained, “The Court of Judicial Magistrate Karachi has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against the accused and absconder YouTuber Yasir Shami in Aamir Liaquat (late) cybercrime obscene video leak case.”

According to Dania, the wife of the deceased TV personality, both Yasir Shami and herself are implicated in the case. “Awaiting the FIA to apprehend Yasir Shami and bring him before the court to enforce the court orders. InshaAllah, Aamir Liaquat will soon receive justice,” Dr. Bushra expressed her optimism.

The legal saga surrounding the viral videos has entangled multiple individuals, including Aamir’s third wife Dania, currently out on bail. Liaqat Gabol, representing Dania, underscored Yasir’s pivotal role in the case’s progression, attributing delays to his actions.
