Former Baloch militant commander killed in bomb blast at Suhbatpur

SAHBUTPUR: One person was killed after a bomb exploded at a house in Suhbatpur, Balochistan on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Commander Wali Muhammad Bugti, who had recently laid down arms and dissociated himself from the armed struggle against the state.

Soon after learning about the blast, police reached the site of the incident and shifted the body to hospital. Police said they were investigating the incident.

It merits mention that Baloch Commander of banned outfit Wali Muhammad alias Haji Qalati Murree had announced to surrender armed struggle against the government recently.

Addressing a Press conference with PML-N leader Nawabzada Jangaiz Murree in Quetta, Wali Muhammad had said armed struggle against the government is fake and he would no longer be part of armed struggle.

He said he had shunned the struggle after 40 years.

“I want to advise the Baloch youth to stay away from the ‘slogan of freedom’ as it is only a hoax,” Kalati, who was flanked by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Changaiz Marri had told media.

Kalati said that these Sardars (chieftains) were enjoying luxurious lives in the foreign countries at the expense of Pakistan’s enemies.

“Their children are studying abroad while ours are mired in ignorance. I have finally realized that this ‘war of separatism’ was more about vested interests than political grievances,” Kalati, who claimed to be the lieutenant of UBA chief Zamran Marri.
