Railways announces fares cut on Eidul Azha, stopover of Awam Express

LAHORE: In view of the public convenience, Pakistan Railways on Tuesday announced fares cut by 25 per cent to facilitate passengers on Eidul Azha 2024 and stopover of Awam Express (13Up, 14Dn) at Chaklala Railway Station.

According to a PR press release, the management has allowed the (13Up, 14Dn) Awam Express running between Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Multan, Bahawalpur and Karachi to stop at Chaklala Railway Station for two minutes. The public will get this facility on temporary basis for three months. It added that the decision will come into force with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Railways on Tuesday slashed train fares by 25 percent to facilitate passengers during Eidul Azha 2024.

As per details, the PR announced the reduction in fares for three days of Eidul Azha 2024, which will be applicable on all passenger trains except for Eid special trains.

“We are delighted to announce this significant fare reduction as part of our commitment to serving the people of Pakistan,” Pakistan Railways spokesperson stated.

The discount will be available exclusively for current bookings.

Back in May 2024, Pakistan Railways had announced reduction in train fares across various classes.

The economy class fares of some trains had been reduced up to 54% while the air-conditioned class fares reduced by 40%.
