Ambassador Masood to hand over charge to Deputy Head of Mission

ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, Masood Khan will hand over the charge of his office to the Deputy Head of Mission on July 1.

A private news channel quoted diplomatic sources as saying that the government has instructed Masood Khan to return home immediately.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif was very unhappy with the performance of Ambassador Masood Khan, sources said.

The process of appointing Rizwan Saeed Sheikh as Pakistan’s new ambassador to US has been accelerated and his documents have been sent to Washington.

The US State Department after examining the diplomatic documents will issue the clearance. Rizwan Saeed Shaikh will take over as Pakistan’s ambassador to Washington soon after the US government’s approval.
