Kate Middleton gets praise for bold move to protect her children

Princess of Wales Kate Middleton has taken significant steps to safeguard her children from the intrusive media glare.

Known for her keen interest in photography, Kate has often been seen capturing spontaneous moments of Prince William and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Recently, Kate delighted the public with a charming birthday photograph featuring Prince William joyfully leaping alongside their children. This snapshot, capturing Prince George at 10, Princess Charlotte at 9, and Prince Louis at 6, was widely praised for its candidness and warmth.

Kate’s passion for photography is well-documented, despite a minor setback when a Mother’s Day family picture was withdrawn due to an editing error. However, her dedication to protecting her family’s privacy has been highlighted in the Channel 5 documentary “Kate: A Queen for the Future.”

Journalist Afua Hagan, featured in the documentary, praised Kate’s initiative, stating, “The Princess of Wales understands the intense interest in her family, especially her children. She recognizes that the press needs these pictures, but she also sees the damage that excessive media attention can cause. By taking control of this aspect, she has made a brilliant move.”

Kate’s decision to personally capture and share photographs of her children has been unprecedented. “She’s decided I will take them and I will deliver them to the press agencies. I’ll be the one that posts them on social media,” Hagan added.

Royal Commentator Ingrid Seward noted that Kate has effectively become “the main photographer of the family,” sparing her children the discomfort of posing for strangers. This approach allows the children to grow up with a degree of normalcy, shielded from relentless media scrutiny.

The impact of constant media attention on royal lives is well-known, with Prince William and Prince Harry openly discussing their struggles with it from a young age. Kate’s proactive stance offers a protective buffer for her children, allowing them to experience a semblance of normal childhood.

The most recent photograph shared by the Princess of Wales, taken last month in Norfolk, shows William and their children joyfully leaping over sand dunes. The heartfelt caption read, “Happy birthday Papa, we all love you so much! Cx.”
