PTI activist Aneela Jutt, a.k.a Neeli Pari, assaults PML-N’s Tahir Anjum in Lahore | Video

A worker of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Aneela alias Neeli Pari, was involved in an altercation with Tahir Anjum, a comedian and leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) cultural wing, in Lahore, as reported by a private news outlet on Wednesday.

The incident unfolded outside the Punjab Assembly, where PTI was staging a ‘symbolic hunger strike’ in protest against the imprisonment of their party founder, Imran Khan.

Neeli Pari intercepted Anjum’s vehicle outside the assembly and proceeded to physically assault him.

Mobile footage, which is in possession of a private news outlet, shows Neeli Pari slapping Tahir Anjum. He was later rescued by PML-N party workers.

Video of attack:

Neeli Pari accused Anjum of creating videos against Imran Khan at the behest of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

Tahir Anjum, on the other hand, claimed he was assaulted and had his clothes torn. He identified himself as an artist and a leader within the PML-N cultural wing.

This altercation follows statements from the incarcerated former premier, Imran Khan, who mentioned earlier this month that he was contemplating a hunger strike if justice continued to be denied to him.

Anjum responds:

In related news, police and the Federal Investigation Agency raided PTI’s Central Office the day before, suspecting involvement in alleged “anti-state digital campaigns,” leading to the arrest of the party’s information secretary, Raoof Hasan.

In response, PTI leaders including Asad Qaiser, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, and Ali Muhammad Khan, among others, held a three-hour ‘symbolic hunger strike’ outside Parliament House to register their protest.
