Naqvi orders Margalla road expansion to conclude by August 14

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has instructed that the Margalla Road expansion project be completed by August 14, following his inspection of the ongoing development work, which resumed on Saturday after a 17-year hiatus.

During his visit to the project site, Naqvi examined the asphalt work, assessed the construction quality, and mandated the road be opened to traffic before the national Independence Day. He also ordered the inclusion of a cycle track in the project and announced that Margalla Avenue would be connected to Murree Road.

Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa provided a brief on the project, noting that it was originally launched in 2007 and was scheduled for completion in 2008. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Memon and the project contractor were also present during the minister’s inspection.
