Govt leaders honour police martyrs, pledge support for their families

ISLAMABAD: Leaders across Pakistan paid tribute to police martyrs on Police Martyrs’ Day, acknowledging the sacrifices made by the brave officers and expressing solidarity with their families.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, and other officials participated in ceremonies and delivered messages of gratitude and support.

The main ceremony took place at the Central Police Office in Quetta, where Inspector General Abdul Khaliq Sheikh and families of the martyrs gathered to remember those who had fallen in the line of duty. Flowers were placed at the martyrs’ memorial, and similar ceremonies were held throughout the province to honor the sacrifices made by police officers.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the eternal sacrifices of police martyrs as invaluable, stating, “Police martyrs are the pride of our nation, and their exemplary services in establishing peace are crucial.” He assured the families of the martyrs of the government’s continued support and emphasized the nation’s pride in honoring these heroes.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also paid homage to the martyrs, asserting that they will always be remembered. “This day reminds us of their sacrifices, which will never be forgotten,” she declared. Nawaz pledged the Punjab government’s support for the families and highlighted its commitment to using all resources for their welfare.
